Schools Life Lessons

Grade school was an impressionable time of life for me.  Besides getting an education to help me cope in the real world, I learned how to socialize outside the classroom by hanging around other students and adults.

While in school I learned not to judge others because of their race, gender and religion.  This lesson I learned is because of a second grade teacher who was of Korean decent.  She thought it would be wonderful to have me uprooted from my current class and be placed into her class.  The principal thought it was a great idea, but as it turned out it was not a good idea.  I resented that I had to be in her class, she always was ridiculing me for not knowing the Korean ways of life.   My school grades were suffering and my parents had to get involved.  I was taken out of her class immediately and placed in a class that I called normal.

I learned not to judge anyone by the way they look, how they dress and their unique personality because I was judged that way.  I am always careful of how I treat others because if I didn’t the outcome can be disastrous
